Summer Party 2012

Gender Matters Fund Raising Summer Party took place on Friday 27th July 2012.

Highlights included:

  • Special appearance and performance by Chrisie Edkins a trans celeb and model.
  • The 'DJ' played a mix of pop, dance and modern music.
  • Nick Jarvis performed his poetry and more.
  • Phil Oldershaw was the MC the proceedings at the Summer Party.

The Cottage Surgery kindly sponsored the Gender Matters 9th Anniversary party.

Gender Matters would like to acknowledge the generosity of the Clinic Director, Mr Rob Carless & the staff of the Cottage Surgery. Their sponsorship enabled us to decorate the venue and offer three valuable raffle prizes and the prize for the Volunteer of the Year.

Cottage Surgery, situated in Quarry Bank in the heart of the West Midlands, is one of the longest established laser clinics in Great Britain and provides treatments using the very latest technologies for a variety of cosmetic and medical problems affecting the skin including hair and tattoo removal.

Sterex kindly donated free training and equipment (to the value of £2,000). More information on the winner of this fantastic opportunity to follow!

Gender Matters would like to thank you to all those attended, performed on the night and for the kind donations made not only by Cottage Surgery and Sterex but also by a number of our members!

The 2013 Summer party promises to be much bigger (our 10th Anniversary).
